Bio Sites: what are they and should my small business have one?
Per usual, Triumph received no financial compensation from Unfold for writing this article. Straight from the heart, baby.
Business—and particularly small business—is a game of inches. With margins tight and competition stiff, often times it’s the little things that can help set a company apart. Speaking of little things, let’s have a quick chat about Bio Sites.
In a world fighting for clicks, sometimes the race isn’t to the strong or the swift—but to the most organized. Bio Sites help users integrate their business’s complex public persona into one intuitive landing page. From there, potential clientele can easily access your websites, social media accounts, fundraising projects, and a wide range of other business facets , all at the click of a link. Apart from all the “good business sense” reasons we just laid out, Bio Sites also just look beautiful, and some good aesthetic never hurt anyone (Dorian Gray notwithstanding).
Now, while this article is primarily geared toward small business owners, Bio Sites are well-suited for a variety of adventures. Whether you’re an independent music artist, an athlete looking to get drafted, or a part of some other upstart adventure, Bio Sites can still be a powerful piece of your repertoire. Shameless plug, even Triumph has one, and we think it’s pretty swell.
Tell me more.
Owned and operated by the Unfold platform, custom Bio Sites are easily available through the company’s app on IOS and Android. The apps design dashboard offers a vast array of customization and plugin options. More basic Bio Sites (like ours) typically make use of links for company websites, embed some recent Instagram posts, and maybe add the occasional contribution option. However, if you’re looking for something a little more avant-garde, Bio Sites has no shortage of options to suit your fancy. Users can set up crowd funding projects and even link an NFT gallery through an existing Ethereum wallet address (if you’re into that kind of thing).
Bio Sites also allow users to embed content from a variety of social media platforms. Whether it be your latest company live stream via Twitch, some quality content from your organization’s Tik Tok, or maybe just some subpar rapping from your owner’s nephew on Soundcloud, Bio Site has you covered.
For existing Squarespace users, the deal gets even sweeter. Unfold is in fact owned by the Squarespace parent company and with that unity comes auto-fill options. Users can sign in to the Unfold app with their Squarespace credentials to automatically sync their website content into a new Bio Site page. No muss, no fuss.
Let’s talk coin.
Bio Site offers three plan options, the first of which begins at everyone’s favorite price point—free. With the free package, users can enjoy access to a limited number of design templates and all of the fun features outlined above. You will, however, have to put up with a slightly unsightly Bio Site ad at the bottom of your page.
Coming in hot in the first Bio Site paid tier is the “Plus” plan (sadly, no points for originality). Bio Site Plus packs a creative punch, allowing users to enjoy all the features of the free plan along with hundreds of additional design templates, unique fonts, stickers, filters, and effects, and a feed planner feature to help curate your content in advance. This plan is yours to own for the low, low price of $2.99 a month or $19.99 for the entire year.
And finally, the pièce de résistance, the top tier of Bio Site accounts, Bio Site “Pro” (minus 5 points for lack of originality). What the plan lacks in naming creativity, and more than makes up for in substance. Along with all the goodies of free and Plus, Bio Site Pro allows company’s to load in their own custom fonts, logos and color schemes. Additionally, the Pro plan comes with “Web Stories” advanced marketing features. As if all that wasn’t enough, Unfold sweetens the deal by throwing in an Unfold+ membership (minus 5 more points), granting users access to the app’s entire library of additional features. Bio Site Pro will run you $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year—whichever one you’re more into.
Now, off you go, time to improve your brand.
Whether you are a less than tech savvy small business, or a Kardashian-level influencer empire, Bio Site has a product to fit a diverse range of business needs. Even ours (like we said, it’s hard to argue with free).
